Cycle trip
Cycle path ‘La Baillargelle’ is made of various circuits around Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux. You can choose between more than ten routes. The longest one will lead you around the town. Along the track, you’ll discover the town’s heritage and surroundings. Each tourist spot has an information sign with history about the place.

Forêt de Moulière
Horse riding
The horse club of the forest of Moulière is located 18 km from Poitiers and the Futuroscope, on the edge of a big, 6000 ha forest. You’ll find no less than 146 horses and ponies for various activities. The horse club mainly organizes rides in the forest. A nice occasion to discover this magnificent forest filled with oaks, chestnuts and beeches.

Angles-sur-l'Anglin
Lovely village
Angles-sur-l'Anglin is listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France, set between the regions of Berry and Touraine. The 50 metres high perched, medieval castle dominates the valley and the lower part of the village. Besides this building from the 12th and 15th centuries, the lovely medieval alleyways will invite you for a stroll.

This living museum will take you to a rural village of the beginning of the 20th century. From the school to the work on the land and a wedding, you’ll learn about 30 years of the daily life of the inhabitants through 15 living scenes. The itinerary with light and sound ends with an exhibition about farming materials.

The almond and macaron museum of Montmorillon shows you the history of macarons, and will take you along all the stages from the growing of almonds to the making of macarons. All of your senses will be awakened: sight, hearing, taste and smell. By the end of the tour you can of course taste these delicious macarons.

Chauvigny
Historical site
Chauvigny is a town of art and a unique place thanks to the 5 castles dominating the Vienne from up the peak. The collegiate church St Pierre (12thcentury) is an example of Norman art. The donjon offers a beautiful panoramic sight on the town and the area. Chauvigny is the cradle of porcelain in the region of Poitou-Charentes, and is therefore known for the quality of this craftwork.

Bird show
Within the walls of the medieval town of Chauvigny, you’ll find a raptor show. The show is held in an open-air theatre offering a splendid view on the town. During this show, various raptors will come really close and will show amazing tricks.

St Savin abbey
UNESCO world heritage
As a masterpiece of Norman art, the abbey of St Savin offers the best collection of Norman art in Europe. This is what brought the abbey to the list of World heritage of UNESCO in 1983. The recently restored paintings are explained during a scenographic itinerary in the old monks building dating from the 17th century.

Vallée des Singes
Animal park for all ages
Ape park ‘Vallée des Singes’ is an original animal park 100 % natural and 100 % different. It is completely dedicated to apes and counts 30 species and more than 400 animals living in semi liberty on a wooded 16 ha site. You’ll find chimps, the biggest group of gorillas in France and bonobos. This is the only park in France housing the latter species. They live in a spacious building and have access to an outdoor space of 1 ha.

Musée des vitraux
A colourful outing
This is one of the few museums dedicated to the art of leaded glass. The permanent exhibitions offer a wide range of religious and civil leaded glass, from the 15th century to our days. Temporary exhibitions show us the work of modern artists. This museum is ideal for history fanatics but also for children thanks to the special kids’ trail with fun information and games. Those who want to learn more about the art of leaded glass or glass items can also take classes.
